Digital Photography Tips. Get the most from your photos

digitalphotographytips Digital Photography Tips. Get the most from your photosA lot of people are looking for digital photography tipsĀ these days. Because almost every person has a digital camera and while the default settings usually take some decent photo’s most people don’t really know some basic tricks that you can use to take great photo’s with any digital camera. There are key elements to making a good photo regardless of the cost of your camera and these are holding the camera correctly, focusing the camera, lighting and camera features. I will explain these in more detail in this article.

Holding the camera correctly is the first step to mastering the art of snapping photo’s. When holding your camera it is important to keep it as steady as you can. Ideally if you have a bench or a flat surface around you would put the camera on the surface and take the photo that way. The problem with this of course is that it limits the field of view and can be hard to get what you want a photo of in that limited space. So you’re either going to have to hold the camera super steady with your hands and take care not to move the camera when pressing the button to actually take a picture (setting a timer can help with this) or you can buy and use a tripod. Tripods are a great piece of equipment to have and most of the smaller versions these days are very small and compact so shouldn’t be too cumbersome.

Digital Photography Tips – Focusing your camera

Focusing the camera is another way to get great shots with your digital camera. A lot of digital photography tips sites tend to overlook this as they assume all digital cameras will just automatically get the focus right straight away. This is not the case however. So how do you get it to focus properly before taking the shot? It’s actually very easy, you simply press the button half way down and the camera will auto-focus for you, if you do this for 1 second and then press it all the way down to take your shot you should get perfect focus pictures every time. Often image blurring is the result of moving your camera too much also, so getting a tripod would really help out here also.

Digital Photography Tips – Lighting your photos

Lighting is crucial to any photo. If you’ve ever taken a picture inside and then outside you will know there is a huge difference. The natural light from outside is almost impossible to beat. That’s why all cameras come with a flash, however in order to use a flash correctly you probably need to know about how it works. A flash creates a sudden burst of artificial light to illuminate the subject of your photo. However the light can only travel so far, for best effect the target of your photo should be only 10 to 15 yards or less away. Any further than that and the light from the flash simply won’t reach. If you can get one, a lamp or ceiling light will be a huge benefit indoors but sometimes you simply have to rely on the flash. So go out there and take some great shots armed with these 3 great digital photography tips .
