How do I make my own photography portfolio book to present my pictures in?

Query by Cham: How do I make my very own photography portfolio book to present my photos in?
I’ve tried finding things on-line, no luck! i’m in photography and we have to select 5 last pictures to present by some means in a booklet portfolio, but I’m not certain how to make my own booklet. Something that seems great and presentable. Any ideas? thanks.

You could download some photography books, I uploaded myself.

You can go to Michael’s or an art supply store and get a scrap book. And buy one in the size of your largest photo (or larger to mat it) To make it look professional go with a black leather or brown. (your own preference though) Then you can buy paper and mat it in the book. And take out the rest of the plastic pages.

And if you buy at Michael’s then make sure to print a coupon. (they always have coupons online)

You cannot use a digital book for your 5 photos; there are too few to bind in a photo book anyway – Blurb and similar products require at least 10 pages (20 sides) and the finish is not appropriate for a portfolio.

Standard portfolio folders can be bought at art supply stores but the easiest place to get one is on eBay. The bigger the better for a portfolio, but an A3 is a practical size.

Avoid plastic pockets with punch holes down one side. Not only do they look cheap.but they will damage your photographs over time. The same is true of ring binders from office supply shops – cheap.

Manufacturers of budget portfolio folders include Kenro and Secol and the French company, Prat has a very good reputation is is online; I believe they have outlets around the world.Make sure you put enough effort into getting your prints “just right” . A photograph printed on your home printer, using cheap paper and budget inks won’t cut it – a quality portfolio folder is meant to highlight your print, and while it makes a great print “shine” it also highlights the shortcomings of a careless or poor print.
